Estimating
Contact

After a request for space renovation has been submitted to the Office of Space Planning, it is sent either to the the Provost's office or the Vice President of University Services to obtain approval for an estimate. If approved the request is sent to FP&D.

The Estimating process involves the determination of the estimated costs for a project. FP&D discusses the requirements and details of the project with the requestor. The scope of work is outlined on a line item basis and includes, but is not limited, to such things as demolition, wall construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, equipment moves, etc. as well as the particular needs of the Requestor. These costs in turn are broken down into Material and Labor costs for the various items involved in the project effort.

The estimate is finalized and FP&D sends it to the Office of Space Planning for review with the Requestor. Upon agreement of the scope of work and the cost estimate between the Requestor and the Provost's office or the Senior VP as the case may be, an account number is generated from the Provost or the Requestor.

Then the project is approved for design and construction and the program is verified.

The project management team coordinates the design and construction phases of the project.
