Design Services
Design
Services includes both Architectural and Engineering Services,
which provides design phase management of construction projects throughout
the design development phase. The design development phase is as
follows: project initiation, space needs analysis, feasibility
studies, conceptual design, program development, project approval
coordination
(all provided through the Office
of Space Planning); schematic design,
design development, construction management, and estimating services
for all space changes and renovation projects. In addition, this
group also provides drafting services for the in-house design of
all architectural, plumbing, structural, civil, electrical, and
HVAC (heating ventilation, air conditioning) elements.
Unseen by many is the immense architectural, mechanical and electrical
infrastructure of the campus. As the campus is very dynamic in
nature, Design Services documents change and designs upgrades for
the same. When new construction projects are initiated team support
is provided by both Architectural and Engineering Services to review
building code issues, technical design and ensure quality control
of the design process.
